🌿 Case Study: You Think Healing Needs Them?
When Sarah first found Healing the Rift, she was convinced that peace would only come when her daughter came back. Every day she replayed conversations, drafted messages she never sent, and waited for a sign that reconciliation was possible.
Through the book’s exercises, Sarah began shifting her focus inward — from trying to fix the relationship to gently rebuilding herself. She learned how to release guilt, set healthy emotional boundaries, and rediscover her own joy, even in the silence.
The change was quiet but profound. She laughed again, slept again, and started living for today, not for “someday.”
Now you understand why it doesn’t. 🌿
If Sarah can heal so can you,
you can start now! 💕
The book opens your heart.
The workbook transforms your life.
Month by month, you’ll build resilience that lasts a lifetime.

How One Mother Found Peace Again
Background
When Anne, a 56-year-old mother of two, first discovered Healing the Rift with Your Adult Child, she had been estranged from her eldest daughter for nearly three years.
The silence was deafening.Birthdays passed without a word.
Family gatherings felt hollow.
Every morning began with the same question: “What did I do wrong?”
Anne had read countless blogs and advice columns. Most told her to “give it time” or “reach out again.” Each attempt left her feeling smaller, more ashamed, and no closer to peace. The relationship seemed permanently broken — and so was her confidence.
Challenge
Anne’s biggest struggle was internal.
She couldn’t stop replaying the past — her words, her mistakes, her daughter’s anger. Every conversation ended in guilt and self-blame.She told herself she would never be happy again until her daughter came back.
That belief kept her trapped in emotional quicksand.Turning Point
Scrolling online late one night, Anne came across Healing the Rift with Your Adult Child by Laura Lamont.
The title alone struck a chord — not a promise of reunion, but of healing.Within the first chapters, Anne realised this wasn’t another book about “fixing” her child — it was about reclaiming herself.
She began journaling through the exercises and, for the first time, allowed herself to grieve the relationship without judgement.
She practised the self-compassion techniques from the book’s early chapters and began rebuilding her daily routine around her own emotional needs, not her daughter’s absence. Results
Over several weeks, Anne noticed quiet shifts in her mindset and habits:Her mornings no longer began with dread.
She joined a walking group and rediscovered laughter.
She stopped checking her phone obsessively.
Most importantly, she began to forgive herself.
By the time she finished the book, reconciliation was no longer her measure of healing — inner peace was.
Months later, her daughter sent a brief, cautious message. For the first time, Anne didn’t respond from fear or guilt. She replied with calm, warmth, and boundaries — exactly as Healing the Rift had taught her.
Today, their relationship is slowly rebuilding — but more importantly, Anne has rebuilt herself.
Key Takeaway
Healing the Rift with Your Adult Child doesn’t tell parents to chase reconciliation — it empowers them to rediscover joy and self-worth, whether or not their child returns.“This book gave me permission to live again — not by forgetting my daughter, but by remembering myself.”
— Anne, age 56 -

Laura has experience in the field of estrangement and now works alongside people who also are affected. The book gives great examples, lots of bullet points making it easy to 'quick read'. I would suggest a block of post it notes so you can go back to some of the very relative points and exercises as you need. Such an important topic.

loved that there is so many different testimonials in the book that shows the range of separation or rifts that happen in our lives and how our relationships end up getting to the point where we end up ending them. I can only speak for my own situation, and I can say that I had to walk away from my relationship with my sister several years ago for my own well-being. As my incredible counselor put it, once you ring a bell you cannot un-ring it and this was one of those situations. Some things are just unforgiveable. It is great to read it this book that so many people can find forgiveness and that is fantastic.

The Blended Family Guide
“So many family types these days, and having a book like this is a perfect guide to harmony in the home.”

Background
When Sarah and Tom married, they each brought two children from previous relationships.
The love was strong — but so were the tensions.
Different routines, loyalties, and parenting styles turned simple evenings into battlegrounds.Sarah felt torn between keeping peace and keeping her voice. Tom worried he was losing connection with his own kids while trying to be fair to hers.
Challenge
Their home often felt like two families living side by side rather than one.
Rules changed depending on who was home, and every disagreement seemed to reopen old wounds.
Both parents admitted: “We didn’t realise blending would be this hard.”Turning Point
One evening, after yet another argument about bedtime routines, Sarah downloaded The Blended Family Guide by Laura Lamont.
The chapter on “Creating New Family Rules Together” immediately resonated. They called a family meeting — not to lecture, but to listen.
Each child had a turn to share what made them feel respected and safe. Together, they wrote five new family rules based on fairness, kindness, and shared space. Results
Within weeks, small changes began to rebuild trust:Weekly “family nights” replaced silent dinners.
Each child was given one shared household responsibility.
Disagreements were discussed using the “pause and reflect” rule from the book.
Sarah and Tom began scheduling adult-only check-ins to stay united.
The home that once echoed with tension began to feel calm and predictable again — a place where everyone’s voice mattered.
Key Takeaway
The Blended Family Guide helped Sarah and Tom shift from surviving to thriving as a blended family.
They learned that harmony doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built one clear boundary, one shared value, and one act of understanding at a time.“We stopped trying to force everyone to fit the old rules — and created new ones that fit all of us.”
— Sarah, stepmum of four -

💚 MS & Me
Finding Strength Beyond the Diagnosis
When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in my early thirties, I thought my story was over.
It wasn’t — it was just beginning.
I’ve learned that MS doesn’t define who you are; it simply invites you to live differently, to notice the beauty in the smallest victories, and to keep moving forward with grace and grit.
Everyone has a story.
This is mine — a journey through fear, resilience, laughter, and life itself.
“You can have MS and still build a life that makes your heart race.”
Much Love Laura
