I’ve always been fascinated by the Titanic, but this is the first novel I’ve actually read about it, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. But, I really loved this book! It was a quick read, but very well-written. I thoroughly enjoyed the different perspectives we got— from a few people in first class, some of their maids, one in second class, and two in third class— it was fascinating to experience the same occurrences or the same day but from wildly different people and viewpoints. I cried A LOT during the sinking of the ship— the author did an incredible job of writing the terror, grief, and strength that occurred during that horrible night, and I was truly not okay while reading those scenes (but in a good way, like in a necessary way that the people on-board the Titanic deserve). My only critique is that I actually would’ve been okay with the book being a little longer and giving us a little more insight into each characters’ history and who they are. But we still got to know them and love them, so that’s a small critique for me. This book is absolutely 5 stars from me.

This was a sweet love story. Fans of the titanic story should enjoy it. I enjoyed a focus on a married couple rather than the typical first courtships we find in novels, or the famous titanic movie. The author blends together interesting historical facts with fiction in a way that intrigues you and makes you want to both learn more about the characters but also learn more about the titanic.

I enjoyed reading this book very much, the Titanic is a well known story but to go on the journey with the very interesting and strong characters makes it much more enthralling as the historical facts are interwoven throughout. The iceberg also has it's own journey and is beautifully and ominously portrayed as it looms ever closer! Look forward to go on the onward journey in the next book.

Review from Dartmouth Cove NS Canada. HRM Resting place of many of the Titanic victims. I believe living so close to the resting place of the victims, and being able to visit-them , gives this book a real NS connection. One at first things one notices is , the countless hours the author spent on research, of the passenger's not just their names. The ship , its lay out , its beauty. One feels like you can reach out and touch the railings. Then there is the classes , we all know of classes , first, second , and third class remain today. But the author magnifies just how important it was in that time frame. Simply there are too many reasons why you should read this book to list. Thank you for advancing my education on the Titanic disaster.
